Interested in learning more about what it’s like to work at the largest amusement park in Pennsylvania? We spoke to current Hersheypark team members about their roles and experiences so you don't have to! Check out what they had to say below.
Lifeguard
Zach Hackman, Tiffany Wright, and Chloe Readinger
Lifeguards are an essential part of our summer operation at Hersheypark. Not only do our lifeguards have fun while in the sun, but they also help keep our guests safe during their visit. Meet Zach, Tiffany and Chloe, who are full-time members of the aquatics team. They began their Hersheypark careers as part-time lifeguards and have nothing but positive things to say about their department.
“Hersheypark is the best place to work as a part-time employee,” says Zach. “I have made so many memories while working here, and being a lifeguard has made a lasting impact on not only my skills but also the amazing memories I have made!”
Chloe agreed by adding, “Hersheypark is the perfect place to work as a lifeguard. Not only do you learn valuable skills, but you gain the confidence to handle a lot of situations that help you even outside of work!” She also indicated her favorite perk of the job by adding, “I made so many friends immediately while working as a lifeguard, and they are still some of my best friends to this day! This is such an important role within Hersheypark, and everyone works together in an amazing way.”
“Being a lifeguard comes with a lot of fun responsibilities,” says Tiffany. “It is really important in a sense because you are responsible for the lives and safety of the guests.”
Security
Frank Pianto
The Hersheypark Security Officers work passionately to keep our operation running smoothly and make sure our guests have a Hersheypark Happy experience when visiting our sweet destination. Frank Pianto, who works for the security department, speaks about his experience in his role.
“My job is to provide amazing customer service, safety and enjoyable experiences for guests of Hersheypark, GIANT Center, Hershey Theatre and Hersheypark Stadium,” Frank shares. “I love seeing the smiling faces of families every day, and I always have a great time with my fellow employees.” Franks also notes, “My advice to those who are applying for this job is simple: work hard but have fun doing it! This is something I tell myself every day before I head to work, and I love what I do.”
Games
Raeann Miller
Do you love amusement park games like “Whack a Mole” and “The Claw?” If you become a games team member at Hersheypark, you can help work at those games and more! Raeann from our games department talks more about her experience starting in games as a part-time clerk and working her way into a full-time role.
“In 2022, I started working at the park as a part-time games clerk,” Raeann said. “Throughout the summer, I operated many different outdoor skill games and eventually the two arcades. I really enjoyed the variety of things I got to do every day. Eventually, my supervisor talked to me about how I could apply for a promotion. In May of the following year, I got promoted to a games lead. While I still ran game stands, I also had the opportunity to learn even more about the operation. I gained so much confidence in my role and loved what I was doing every day.” Raeann continued, “In 2024 I got promoted to a full-time team member! I am so thankful for Hersheypark and the people I have worked with who have helped me succeed.”
Raeann went on to explain her favorite part of her day-to-day in games. “One of my favorite things about working in the park is the difference I get to make for the families that visit. I enjoy problem-solving for guests in the moment and being able to leave a positive impact on their experience with Hersheypark. It feels great knowing that the work I do contributes to making someone’s trip better.”
