The full list of requirements can be found in the Agreement. All volunteers must be at least 18 years of age, and must represent an approved non-profit organization.
Service groups, church groups, community organizations, schools, and social clubs may be able to qualify. There is no minimum or maximum number of participants for each organization. However, large groups may be divided up and scheduled at different times depending on availability.
Your organization needs to complete the following in order to participate in our Volunteer Program:

Once we have received your organization's information and approved your paperwork, a confirmation letter will be sent to your group. We will try to place you in your first choice department(s); however, it is subject to availability.
If your group leader or group availability changes, please be sure to call the Volunteer Program Coordinator at 717-534-8900 with the new or updated information. You may also contact us by email, Volunteer@HersheyPA.com.

Each ticket is good for either:
- One (1) regular, one-day admission to Hersheypark
One (1) regular, one-day admission to ZooAmerica
One parking admission One vehicle entry (up to eight passengers) into Hershey Sweet Lights

The Hershey Entertainment Complex uses volunteer groups to assist with special staffing needs at various times throughout the year in the following departments.
Attractions: This role requires direct contact with Hersheypark guests, including small children. Work is performed almost exclusively outdoors. Expected to maintain a high degree of professionalism and guest service
while maintaining vigilance at all times. Duties include but are not limited to enforcing attraction heights and other
rider requirements and performing required attraction safety checks. Safety Certification training is required
Entertainment (Seasonal - Hersheypark Halloween): Assisting the Treatville team in distributing candy to guests.
Food & Beverage: Assisting the Food and Beverage staff with prep work, basic cooking, and serving guests including managing cashless transactions. Maintaining and assisting with general cleanliness while following proper food handling procedures. Assisting with the service of alcoholic beverages; RAMP Certification training is required. Yearly Food and Beverage training is required.
Games: Working at games of skill and in arcade locations while following game-specific directions and proper operating procedures. Working independently and regularly interact with guests. Implementing the Intercard cashless gaming system that is used to accept cashless payments for gameplay and arcade prize redemption.
Guest Experience (Hersheypark and ZooAmerica Admissions): Greeting and welcoming guests to Hersheypark/ZooAmerica. Scanning various ticket types and season passes to ensure validity. Overseeing exit operations and ensuring guests have proper re-entry credentials when wishing to return to Hersheypark/ZooAmerica on the same day. Work at outdoor locations at Hersheypark/ZooAmerica and standing for the majority of their shift.
Paid Parking (Toll Taker): Assisting in collection of parking fees and identifying parking passes as
guests enter the Hersheypark Entertainment Complex. Managing currency and processing cash and credit card transactions using a point-of-sale system.
Parking Lot Attendant: Assisting with directing guests to parking locations. Standing and using repeated hand and arm movements around moving vehicles.
Retail: Assisting at Hersheypark Supply Co. or other retail locations as needed. Processing transactions efficiently using a cashless point-of-sale system. Sizing and stocking products; interacting with guests and providing them with general information
Trams: Assisting guests at tram stops with loading and unloading (including wheelchairs and strollers). (If trained): Safely operating the tram shuttle transporting guests to their destination & effectively communicating information about Hersheypark Entertainment Complex via PA system. Controlling traffic as needed in and around tram areas
Ushers: Verifying and scanning event tickets and guiding guests to their ticketed seats; scanning tickets and control access to premium location(s) and overseeing a section of the venue during an event. Assisting with guest surveys and distributing promotional material. Volunteers working as Ushers at Giant Center may be asked to operate an elevator and maintain access control at various locations to ensure only those guests with proper tickets/credentials enter and exit.
Utility: Pick up trash in the Hersheypark midways and landscapes, and adjacent parking areas. Maintaining restrooms, including restocking paper products, emptying trash cans, wiping counters, and using a pan and broom to sweep the facility. Lifing up to 30-40 lbs. Controlling a high pressure fire hose to clean the walkways (required for Hose Crew).
**Standard Working Conditions for all Departments: Organization Volunteers must be able to stand for entire Volunteer Shift and Organization Volunteers must be able to bend, stoop, and walk. Must be able to volunteer in a variety of weather conditions; including, heat, cold, and inclement weather.

Everything our guests see contributes to his/her impression of our facility; therefore, we ask that all volunteers present a neat and clean image. Although volunteers are not required to wear a uniform, we require that our volunteer groups still maintain a consistent look. Please read below for Hershey Entertainment & Resorts volunteer group appearance guidelines.
Pants: Khaki, tan, navy or black depending on department, shorts, or Bermudas are acceptable. Rips, tears, or cargo pockets are not permitted. No jeans or capri pants.
Shirts: Park issued or solid white-colored polo shirt and a Temporary Identification pass (Temp ID) that is provided to each volunteer at the beginning of their shift. Aprons and hair nets will be provided for Food & Beverage volunteers.
Shoes: Comfortable footwear with covered toes and heels are required. High heels, clogs, and open-toed footwear (including sandals and flip flops) are not permitted.
If a volunteer wears anything that does not comply with our volunteer appearance policy, they will be asked to leave.
Volunteers may not receive a break during a shift depending on the duration of the shift.
NO, they will not be admitted to the Park or an event without purchasing a ticket. If a child purchases a ticket and enters the Park or an event, they are not allowed to be in designated work areas.

We may be forced to operate on a limited basis; however, don't assume that your group will not be needed. If your services are not required due to inclement weather, or any other operational reason, Hershey Entertainment Complex management will contact your group leader as early as possible. For this reason, we suggest you develop a “quick call” system within your group.
If your services are required and your group cancels or fails to report, you will receive no payment and will be removed from our list of program participants. In any event, please call the department in which you are scheduled to work if you have any questions.
