Celebrate National Carousel Day 2025 at Hersheypark

July 25 is National Carousel Day, and Hersheypark amusement park is the sweetest place to celebrate! The largest amusement park in Pennsylvania is home to one of the oldest carousels in the country - our 106-year-old Carrousel built by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company (PTC) in 1919.

66  hand-carved, wooden horses make up the Carrousel. From circus horses to a horse painted chocolate brown and gold in honor of Milton Hershey School, there is an option for everyone. All 66 horses are original to 1919.

47 is the model number of the Carrousel. Some industry folks and carousel enthusiasts refer to the Carrousel at Hersheypark as PTC #47.

2 decorative chariots are featured on the Carrousel for guests to enjoy.

42 of the 66 horses are jumpers, which means they go up and down.

24 of the 66 horses are stationary.

3 Carrousel locations in Hersheypark history: Spring Creek (1945-1971), Carrousel Circle in Founder's Way (1972-2019) and Hershey's Chocolatetown (2020-present)

1 horse on the Carrousel has a closed mouth. It is a favorite horse of many guests!

153 is the model of the Wurlitzer Military Band Organ that produces the traditional carousel music. It was completely restored in 1975 and then again in preparation for the Carrousel's 100th birthday.
